Abingdon Wine Estate
A beautiful 4 ha wine estate, in the picturesque KZN Midlands. This Family run estate beat the odds by successfully growing grapes in the Midlands. The Smorthwaite family are very hands on when it comes to running the estate.
Jane is a fantastic host and very knowledgeable in her tastings. Ian and his daughter Laurie are involved with every step of the process form picking to blending to ensure each batch and bottle is perfect. This is a lovely place to spend an afternoon and even enjoy a home cooked lunch on weekends.
High Gate Wine Estate
Rudy and Cindy Kassier are the owners and along with the winemaker Thornton Pillay they make their wines from grapes grown on the 5 hectare estate. This estate offers lovely tastings and cheese boards as well as tapas it’s a great spot for lunch or a light bite after a day of meandering.
